RPAS Regulations (related to ICAO Annex 1, 2, & 13):

On 1 June 2016 decree No. 0338 / PR / MT laid down the conditions for the deployment, navigation and use of the airspace by unmanned aircrafts the republic of Gabon. Details are found on this page under "Legal sources".

Gabon’s civil aviation regulations (RAG) have been amended to include the operation of remotely piloted aircraft systems and the management of accidents involving RPAs.

[7.13.1.9 Remotely Piloted Aircraft: A remotely piloted aircraft is operated in such a way as to pose the least possible risk to persons, property or other aircraft, and in accordance with the conditions specified in Appendix 4 of ICAO Annex 2.]

The regulations apply to international air navigation, (i.e. operations by certified RPAS operating in controlled airspace as per conventionally piloted aircraft) and cover three sections:

  1. General operating rules
  2. Certificates and Licenses
  3. Request for permission
